PlayDon't Wait for Gandhi
Inspired by Liberian Peace Activist Leymah Roberta Gbowee, who was awarded the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize on October 7, 2011, I wrote this song to honor her success in organizing a women's movement that brought an end to the Second Liberian Civil War in 2003, which led to the election of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in Liberia, the first African nation with a female president. Some of the lyrics are based on her public comments in various public media.
