In 1981 Jean Williams, office manager at ATV Music Group, gave me a title she had for years and the honor of writing this song. It was written as a Wynonna Judd R&B tinged, medium tempo rocker and was demoed as a waltz. Kathy Mattea did the vocals and it was amazing to watch her sing. It was right before she got her label deal.
