PlayBroken Glass

by Sleeve

Broken Glass was written about the human spirit overcoming the everyday challenges of life. It's a cross between Steve Earle and Alison Krauss. My friend Jim Chapdelaine brought this song to life by his incredible guitar arrangements, Elise MacPherson provided some beautiful background vocals and Dave Henry cemented the track with his drumming prowess.

Portrait of Owen Brady
Really like this track, it very much reminds me of Transendental Blues, which is one of my favourite albums, I really like the message coming through these lyrics and the track has a nicely textured steady build up which adds to the wonderful atmosphere this track conveys.

slow start but very nice

Just as I'd suspected SLEEVE has done it again with BROKEN GLASS. After listening to I DON'T WANNA KNOW and considering the attention to the genre of that song I was of the mind that SLEEVE is really onto something here.
Now BROKEN GLASS has worked the same magic in the Americana/Alt Country genre with a completely different sound and style. SLEEVE is showing me what staying true to the overall vision of a song should be. Never overplaying, always true to song form yet bringing a piece of his own pie to the table, strong versatility is the order of the day and this song is truly a great tune. I'm going back for more!
Thanks SLEEVE, Jim and everyone else who polished this song to brilliance. My hope is that someday I too can get my work honed in this way because writing for TV/Films is my new direction
Great work!
