This song is the first song and title track to the CD "Across the River". It's the story of Death as a man. He's been doing this job of collecting souls for thousands of years and he's long past retirement age. Unfortunately, the only way he gets to retire is if he gives the job to his son, which he's very conflicted about. The song is from the perspective of a father explaining to his son that he has to take over the family business.
