A young girl, who shared a flat with me in NYC, is pressured by a lover she hardly knew to make a decision she is never fully comfortable with. The Mark is not a pro-choice or pro-life song, it is a song about women and their desire to be loved. It is a song about the difficult storms they weather throughout their lives, and the quiet strength they each possess.
