Lyrics

Nobody ever taught me how to play. It's been on and off, but mostly off along the way. I strum some songs but I don't play real great. My big break never came and that's ok. I never had the skills to be a star. I've figured out a couple chords on my guitar. The dream is still alive, but at this rate, I'm growing old and it will be too late. But you have given me a reason to move forward and you'll always be, In every song. I hope you know, more than it shows, you give me life, and that's inspiring me, That's why I sing. You made me the man I am inside, For that you'll always be an angel in my mind. ------------------ Nobody ever taught me how to live. The more I took the less I seemed to want to give. Been mostly up, but now I'm down again. I try my best but I have given in. I never found the time to be alive. I've locked my feelings and my passions deep inside. My past is chasing me, there is no doubt. It seems the future is running out. But you have given me your time and in my mind I find you'll always be, A part of me. I hope you know, I need you more than any words can possibly explain, You keep me sane. ------------------ Nobody ever taught me how to pray. I'd bow my head and close my eyes and I would say, Please give me things and make my life real great. Those things never came and I lost faith. There are no footsteps in the sand but mine. No one could lift me up, no matter how divine. A couple teardrops in an endless sea, They drifted far away, and I lost me. But you have given me a light that burns more more brighter than the rising sun, From up above. And when I give thanks for all I have, know you'll always be the one, I'm thinking of. You made me the man I am inside, For that you'll always be an angel in my mind.
