Description
This is the first song that I attempted to play a second guitar track over my first. First I strummed, then added fingerpicking. Probably should have done a third take as it is occasionally out of time, but sounded pretty good for my limited recording budget. This song is about a dream I had in which my friend had been initiated into a group of witch doctors in north africa and wanted me to join with her.
Lyrics
She is always heavy against the back of my heart but he is always heavy inside me and she can not even go there... I am afraid she will steal me away from his heavy heavy presence... She comes home from somewhere far away with her head shaved and ritual scars from the magic test she took and passed... she says, "We could get you all shaved up," but I don't want to go to North Africa. I can find tests of magic anywhere I am and I am far to scarred already. I am afraid she will steal me away from his heavy heavy presence... I tell him he is a mad gardener, and he agrees with me. He says, "You, my dear, are just mad..." He throws the clocks all away when they break beyond what any amount of butter is capable of fixing, and we save the last two plates for tea, we save the last two plates for tea...
