The first time Q-ZERO recorded a song was at the age of 14 on a 4-track tape recorder by his mentor “ The Perk”. At the 14 years of age Q-ZERO was offered a recording deal by Solar Music Group the biggest independent company in California at that time. His grandmother whom raised Q-ZERO in the bay area of California declined that offer because of his abilities as an athlete. The Perk continued to mentor Q until he surpassed him. As time went on Q-ZERO became an elite athlete and a rare recording artist. Q-ZERO has made it evident that he the lone GENERAL in authenticity. Producing, Engineering, Writing, Performing makes him a music machine. Q-ZERO made a song, bounced it into Pro Tools, recorded himself, and arranged that song in 3 hours. Many believe that rap music has died and has no relevance to culture. Many argue you that you can’t do both make money and good music. Q-ZERO is proof that not only can it be done its being done. Q-ZERO said “ if the audience knows that are getting the real you then they will embrace, support, identify with you, if not then you will be just another artist with a record. You will not be remembered no matter how famous you get and what’s the point if you are forgotten. But hey that’s just me.”
