BIOGRAPHY
Can’t forget Boston, they got the hottest [artist] reppin them now…Nixon Nyce” Says DJ Whoo Kid. And Whoo Kid could not be more correct. The 25 year old Brooklyn born Nixon Nyce who now makes his home in Boston is one of the hottest up and coming artists in an already booming and competitive hip hop game. The boy from Brooklyn started performing early at junior high and high school talent shows, but his love for music would not be contained to a high school gym. Nixon started catching the ear of promoters and radio personalities alike and soon he would have music in radio rotation in the Massachusetts area, the first being “Got Milf” and the second being “No Pain"
Nixon is no stranger to the stage either. His performances span almost a decade including college shows and mainstream bashes. Apart from doing shows at Wentworth Tech and the University New Hampshire, which sponsored an event calling it “Pike Presents Nixon Nyce” in 2006, Nixon has shared the stage with some of hip hops biggest stars. In 2008 Nixon opened up for Maino, Swizz Beats and Yung Berg at the New York City Car Show. Around Boston Nixon has played the very popular Middle East in Cambridge and with DJ Whoo Kid at Orchid Boston.
Nixon is a worker, and a hard worker at that. His releases are a constant testament to his work ethic. In 2007 he released a mixtape entitled DJ Vlad Presents Nixon Nyce – Mr. President. In October of 2008 his single “Got Milf” was released via iTunes. But, his biggest release to date is the one that hit the streets in 2011. The tape “Sooner Than Later” which holds 18 songs is hosted by DJ Benny-D of Akon’s Konvict Muzik. The mixtape shares Nixon’s trials & tribulations and shines a light on the hearbreak he has endured.
17 days after releasing “Sooner Than Later”, Nixon Nyce was diagnosed with Mulitple Sclerosis (MS). Unable to walk, Nixon had to fight his way back to a healthy lifestyle. The pain would nearly shatter Nixon’s dream of being a superstar artist and performer. It was on his hospital bed that Nixon birthed his biggest record to date “No Pain” featuring a soulful unsigned singer Lola.
The future for Nixon Nyce seems to be one filled with promise and excitement. In addition to releasing “No Pain”, Nixon has been working with numerous producers including the progressive DJ Benny D (Konvict Entertainment/Official DJ for Akon).
So what is next for Nixon? The sky is the limit. He will be working on new tracks with some very gifted and well known producers as he works toward his goal of becoming an inspiration for those who suffer from pain around the world.
