Competitions and Opportunities for July 2010
In support of the successful release of his fourth studio album, Battle Studies, John Mayer will be hitting the road this summer on the North American leg of his Battle Studies Tour. Only this time he wants your band there to share the spotlight! John Mayer and OurStage are proud to present the John Mayer "Side Stage Warfare" Competition. This is the ultimate opportunity for artists to showcase their talent for thousands of screaming fans.
OurStage Rock, Pop, Singer-Songwriter (female) and Singer-Songwriter (male) can submit their best track by July 22, 2010. One lucky artist will be selected out of the Top 20 in each of the John Mayer "Side Stage Warfare" Music Channels to perform in an opening slot on the Battle Studies Tour stop in their area. One grand prize winner from each channel will receive:
- Side Stage performance slot at their local Battle Studies Tour stop
- Two (2) tickets for Pavilion seats and Ten (10) tickets for lawn seats to the Touring City stop entrant is performing on.
Artists must be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of entry. Individual artists or a band member must be a legal resident of the 48 contiguous United States and live within a 500-mile radius of select touring markets. One song submission per artist will be accepted into the competition. Accepted genres must fall into the following Pop and Rock genre-based categories on OurStage: Pop, Indie Pop, Singer-Songwriter (female) and Singer-Songwriter (male). Eligible Specialty Channels are restricted to Acoustic.
All entries must be acceptable for radio airplay with clean lyrics. Entries must contain vocals, but do not have to consist solely of vocals. Entries must be accompanied by musical instruments.
