2insoul is an alternative rock band from Peniche, Portugal which was born on 2005, when its former, João Leitão, begun to write songs with an intention of exploring his own ideas and, occasionally, form a band. João started by recording in his digital multitrack recorder, and delivering custom cd´s to his friends and family.
While playing bass with Dapunksportif and guitar on other side projects, he was pretty involved with music, composing a lot and passing through several experiences as a musician that gave him confidence and free will to go on with what he loves the most.
In two years, he made around 20 songs, and he was anxious to experience some of them in a band format.
On a wedding of a friend, João invited David Canhoto, a drummer that he knew for so long, to start the band, with the name"Twinsoul".
Their first song together (João singing and playing guitar and David playing the drums) was "one in a million", in David´s basemment, in his parents house.
They continued reharsaling until they found a new reharsal room where they could be free to make noise and where was possible to join someone else to play with.
After a few tries to play as a quartet, the band established as a trio, with João singing and playing guitar, David on the drums and Rodrigo Mamede on the bass.
They started recording their first EP "the time is now" in 2007 and they gave their first show on March 2008, in their hometown, Peniche.
The 5 song EP was done in August that year. Produced by Marco Jung, it was a wildcard to promote the trio as a band. They gave a few shows in Peniche, Lisbon and in Algarve, where they played at Bafo de Baco, a well known live music club.
In 2009, the goal was to make a record, and to try to get more gigs and exposure with that as much as possible.
They did it and the album was done in December 2009. It´s called "with time"and was recorded, produced, mixed & mastered by Marco Jung at Marduc Studios.
It contains eleven songs, and was released by the band in May 2010.
The band adapted the name for 2insoul, by their own decision. It sounds the same!
Now the challenge is try to get gigs, make fans and enjoy the ride with the album and with live concerts, where these three guys sweat for their own pleasure, and show their will to give the best they can when it comes to play their own music, as well as they try to transmite good feelings to the people who meet them.
