Location: Tucson, AZ   Ras Jahge Bio: Reggae veteran Ras Jahge has been writing and performing music in the Southwest for over 30 years. He is originally the lead singer from Uproot Reggae Band out of Yuma, AZ. He has done many shows with A1 Reggae Band, 602 Band, One Blood Reggae Band, One Drop Redemption, and others. He’s also opened shows for a long list of world-famous acts. His music is especially inspired by legends like Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs, and he is versatile in the many styles he can deliver. His styles can entertain any crowd- whether nyabinghi chants, roots and culture, lover’s rock, rocksteady, 90’s-2000’s dancehall, California roots, ska, or any reggae style, George can deliver. He’s also influenced by his native Mexican/Spanish Southwest flavor and even mixes in some classic rock turned into reggae.   Ricky General Bio: As an up-and-coming deejay in the 1980s, Ricky General took his cue from older artistes including Ninjaman and Super Cat. Now an elder of the dancehall, he believes it is important for him and his contemporaries to listen to dancehall’s young turks.   Born Richard Anderson, Ricky General spent his early years in Jamaica- in Waterford, which had the most hardcore dancehall colony in Portmore. It was there where he cut his teeth on sound systems like King Larry during the mid and late 1980s.   His first song, “Slam Bam,” was produced by deejay Red Dragon and released in 1990.   In the mid-1990s, Ricky General hit the charts with the self-produced “Sketell Bomb,” while “Informer” was recorded for Stone Love. Other well-received singles from that era include “Just Another Day,” “Gun in A Barrow,” and “Back A Yard.”   “Yuh have to move with di times ‘cause things change,” Ricky General stated.   He produced “10 Million” for his Orange Diamond Records, while “Dolly Body” was done for Konsequence Muzik, one of dancehall music’s top labels.   A1 Reggae BIO: A1 Reggae Band originated in Tucson, AZ, in the 1990s. The musicians met while playing in One Blood Reggae Band with “Daddy One Blood” Ira Osbourne and Meditations’ “Danny Clarke.” As a team, William Banks and Jared Koeppel backed up Sister Carol, Frankie Paul, Danny Clarke, Carl Meeks, Brigadier Jerry, General Smiley, Lupa, Casper, Djahna, Motherland Soul, Iisha, Tony Culture, Josh David Barrett, Ian Sweetness, Courtney Mellers, and many others.   Keyboards/ Band Manager: Jared Koeppel Jared is originally from Teaneck, NJ, and went to high school there in a very multi-cultural community and was exposed to reggae and Rastafarian culture at a young age. He comes from a very musical family- his grandfather was a professional trumpet player and also his uncle was a professional clarinet player and producer who worked closely with Richie Havens and many other famous musicians. His father played in an accordion band and his mother plays piano and guitar. Jared started taking piano lessons at 4 years old and began playing Trumpet and French Horn at the age of 9. Jared played French Horn in the University of Arizona Wind Symphony. While in college, he connected with William Banks, Ira Osbourne, Danny Clarke, and other members of One Blood Reggae Band.
