Modern Rock band, Again and Again, has been silently lurking beneath your radar. They’ve been perfecting their medium. Holed up in a barn in the rainy Pacific Northwest, they’ve been blending a dangerously catchy concoction of rock and electronics, hardcore energy and heartbreaking sincerity. Now they’re preparing to burst out of their lair, unleashed upon the planet. The first step in this unveiling is their brand new EP, Get More Gritty —an enthralling, yet sublimely precarious, amalgamation of the band’s past and present influences. The record incorporates pervasive elements of modern rock bands, such as 30 Seconds to Mars, and electronic hints of the New Wave era. But it’s all built on the band’s undeniable hardcore/punk foundation—bands like AFI and Ignite. Again and Again’s roots are unexpected. Hailing from all over the United States, including Michigan, Vermont, Virginia, and California, the band’s members eventually settled in the famously musical Seattle, WA. When asked how his upbringing influenced him, Michigan native and drummer xWesx had this to say: “Where I grew up was very General-Motors-everything, that’s just what people did. I really feel that if I didn’t pick up drum sticks I would have been stuck in that town with three kids, a rental house, and maybe a baby mama or two.” The desire to do something important with their lives pushed these musicians to reach with everything they had. This passion almost exclusively led them to the hardcore scene, where they founded or joined seminal bands, including Walls of Jericho (trustkill), On the last Day (victory), Remembering Never (ferret), Throwdown (trustkill), and Bishop (ferret). They’ve brought along the work ethics and ideals of the hardcore scene to Again and Again, and the result is an unprecedented approach to a genre greatly in need of fresh blood. Since forming in 2007, Again and Again has become a huge success in their hometown. Opening for bands such as Emery, Amber Pacific, Pierce the Veil, Breathe Carolina, Dear and the Headlights, Emarosa, Four Letter Lie, Jars of Clay, Saosin, and many more. They also played on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour and will be joining it again this summer. In the fall, expect to see Again and Again all over the U.S. in support of Get More Gritty. This is the coming-out party of a new brand of modern rock. Again and Again is about to explode out of their local scene to take over the world. When asked what the title of the new record meant to him, singer Geoffrey Walker had this to say: “…it’s like a mantra. It means toughen up, make something happen, and don’t give in. It’s about being strong and unafraid. It’s how we live in this band every day.” If that’s any indication of the future, don’t expect this to be the last you hear of Again and Again. *[again and again] played on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour in the US. *[again and again] plays shows with the likes of 3oh3!, All Time Low, Forever the Sickest Kids, Lights, Madina Lake, Senses Fail, This Providence, Amber Pacific, Breathe Carolina, The 88, Pierce the Veil, Jars of Clay, Aiden, Saosin, Emery, and more. *The band recently released a new record to rave reviews. Over 700 attended the CD Release show. It was Produced by the band, mixed by Marc Hudson (Chiodos, Saves the Day), and Mastered by Troy Glessner for Spectre Studios. *[again and again] is comprised of former Victory, Trustkill, Equal Vision, and Eulogy artists. And has combined sales of over 150,000 records (soundscan). *Having toured all over 3 continents and done 1000's of shows between their previous projects, [again and again] is a touring monster. Industry Comments: "a marketable, motivated outfit." "The hooks are catchy and the production is dynamic and full of energy." "You guys have a modern sound with good pop sensibility. I hear some The Killers or Kill Hannah, All American Rejects etc., but I think you deliver the tracks in a way that makes them uniquely your own. The style lends itself nicely to the incorporation of heavier or even more mellow elements, which offers the band the ability to really get creative and continue to push the sound. There is already a good amount of variety between the tracks. Nice job." "pop-rock for the Twilight crowd" "The music ROCKS but is also very ethereal."
