About ALEX FLANIGAN
From the first time Alex Flanigan sang on stage at age 4 to the time she sang “Inch by Inch” by Peter, Paul and Mary, the music bug hooked Alex. Alex remembers those moments and she swears that she knew back then that the stage was going to be her home. Her next experience with music came as she joined her church choir and sang with them for well over 10 years. Being involved with the church choir enabled Alex to tour England in the 7th grade. Alex performed in all of the major cathedrals through out England and this experience just instilled in her the passion for performing. At age 14 Alex hired a vocal coach that instilled in her an ethic of hard work and dedication to her craft. Alex’s first love is country music and started performing country music at numerous country fairs and venues around Connecticut to rave reviews. Alex’s next journey found her joining the Academy of the Performing Arts in Hartford Connecticut as a vocal major. After graduating she took the leading role of “Sheila” in the sixties rock musical “Hair” at a regional theater in Connecticut. After completing her run with her theatre troop, Alex enlisted the talents of former Little Texas front man Tim Rushlow to produce her very first set of original recordings. Tim has produced to date 4 of her demos that can be heard on alexflanigan.com. Alex is continuing her career as a singer/songwriter/musician and has written more material with Tim as well as with seasoned writers such as Leslie Satcher, Thom Sebastian and Greg Barnhill.
