Luego de lanzar su primera producción "La Mata del Pajón" en el 2007 con el sello discográfico UO Productions, de la cual se separa por la falta de promoción que el sello le dio al su disco, Big James (Jaime Cabrera) se reúne con el productor DJ Urban 01 (Enrique Mendoza) que realizo producciones para artistas como "Strate Crooked", "Ghanjah Man", El Mismo "Big James", "Jase", los dos se conocen trabajando en dicho sello, luego de no encontrar un apoyo certero del sello deciden crear Alter Ego, como un proyecto independiente que pretende explorar el lado experimental de ambos artistas. Desde el patrón de rima, el tiempo, el estilo hasta los instrumentos y sonidos utilizados son ventanas nuevas para indagar y encontrar sonidos frescos que definan el estilo del dúo dentro de un género tan amplio como en el que se encuentran. Luego a mediados del año 2008 atraen la atención de So Serious Entertainment, disquera independiente que reside en Orlando, Florida, y que posee ya varios artistas en su catalogo, a la cual se unen para el lanzamiento de su primera producción. Con colaboraciones de artistas como Yung One Lee (Strate Crooked), Ghanjah Man, Dee y el grupo Cream Of the Crop (artistas residentes del sello So Serious Ent.) entre otros. La primera producción de Alter Ego, bajo su nuevo sello discográfico y con la colaboración de Urban Street Company y Pajon Music, nombrada simplemente "1" (uno), promete entregar un sonido fresco, único, experimental y amigable al oyente que resaltaría un lado nunca antes visto de ambos artistas. After releasing his first production “La Mata del Pajón” in the year 2007 with the record label UO Productions, which he left because of the lack of promotion that the label gave to his album, Big James (Jaime Cabrera) meets producer DJ Urban 01 (Enrique Mendoza) who has made productions for artists like “Strate Crooked”, “Ghanjah Man”, “Big James" himself and “Jase”, both met each other working at the label, after not getting any support from the label they decided to create Alter Ego, as an independent project that tries to explore the experimental side of both artists. From the rhyme pattern, the tempo, the style, even on the instruments utilized and the sounds are windows to have an insight to find sounds fresh that define the style of the band within an ample genre as in which they are. Soon in the middle of year 2008 they attract the attention of So Serious Entertainment, an independent label that resides in Orlando, Florida, and that has several artists already in its catalogue, which they join for the releasing of their first production. With collaborations of artists like Yung One Lee (Strate Crooked), Ghanjah Man, Dee and the group Cream Of the Crop (resident artists of the label So Serious Ent.) among others. The first production of Alter Ego, under its new record label and with the collaboration of Urban Street Company and Pajon Music, named simply “1” (one), promises to give a fresh, unique, experimental and friendly sound to the listener which will present a new side of both artists.
