At just 21, her passion for writing and performing her own music has taken her from the confines of her bedroom and studio to stages and venues like the Kimmel Center and PNC Field. Angela has shared stages with legendary performers such as Patti LaBelle and Teddy Pendergrass, in addition to numerous local favorites from the City of Brotherly Love.
Hailing from Philadelphia, this Temple University graduate is one of the latest sensational music exports from a city rippling with talent. Her unique spin on pop/rock also makes her an immediate favorite with her fans, establishing Angela as a female musical force to be reckoned with. The sing-along sound of her music runs the gamut from adult contemporary to soft rock, folk-pop to acoustic soul and back again. Along with her band, Angela’s intimately dynamic live shows also leave audiences spellbound time and again.
Angela recently released her self-titled debut EP, which she continues to promote with a building list of gigs and concerts that include such great venues as Philadelphia’s North Star Bar and Tin Angel, New York’s Kenny’s Castaways, and even a headlining performance at the Ocean Grove Music Festival (New Jersey) in May 2009.
Along with her deep songwriting, the seemingly effortless style and sound Angela masters has drawn comparisons to superstars like Jewel, Taylor Swift, Lisa Loeb, Duffy and Tracy Chapman, confirming that her lifelong musical aspirations of sharing her gift with the world is fully within reach.
Growing up, Angela studied an array of music and dance styles, including tap, jazz, and hip-hop dance, classical, blues and musical theater performance, as well as classical flute. Drawing inspiration as a youngster from Pop idols Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, and Celine Dion, Angela has prepared to carve her own unique niche next to her female music contemporaries as she sets her sights on making her name synonymous with soulful, young, female empowering music!
