Azura, the up-and-coming band which hails from Los Angeles, CA, is comprised of vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Andy Yeganegi, guitarist/keyboardist Max Farrar, guitarist Andrew Pae, bassist Patrick Mullens, and drummer Nitin Bajaj. Prior to forming the band, the band members shared a common bond as high school friends who were passionate about music. As individuals, each member was a talented musician who was diligently honing the craft of their respective instruments. However, after a few impromptu jam sessions, the musicians realized that the musical chemistry between them was undeniable, leading them to form Azura in March 2009. A delicate fusion of intricate vocal harmonies, captivating lead lines, and melodic rhythms captures the hypnotic, raw energy of Azura’s musical style. Honing a loud, experimental repertoire, Azura’s members have been influenced by the likes of Coldplay, Keane, Radiohead, and U2. Shortly after forming, Azura went on to record their first 3-song demo and performed their first shows to enthusiastic crowds. The summer of 2010 proved to be the busiest season yet for the young band. They started to consistently perform at local venues in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Diego, most notably opening for Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash at the Whiskey A-Go-Go at the Sunset Music Festival, Ryan Cabrera at The Key Club, and playing at Universal City Walk. In November of the same year, the juvenile diabetes foundation, JDRF, personally selected Azura to perform at a walk-a-thon in Dodger’s Stadium that hosted over 15,000 people. As of now, this up-and-coming band is very close to finishing their new EP, and they are continuing to write new material and perform at various venues as they work towards their goal of becoming a relevant band for years to come.
