Brent Derek Cacacho Barcelo, also known as B.Cash. As you can see, Brent developed his stage name by his first initial and his middle name. B, for Brent and Cacacho, or Cash for short. Brent is a 16 year old Filipino Hip-Hop/Rap/ R&b recording artist currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on November 1,1994 in the islands of Hawaii, Brent develops his love for music. Brent lived in Hawaii for about 5 years. Throughout his 5 years back in Hawaii, he would always watched his uncles sing on a karaoke machine. The songs his uncles were singing to, were mostly Pop and R&b. He found that somewhat interesting. After hearing them sing, he would develop his own beat using pots and pans, along with a spoon and pencil. That always amused him as a young boy. Then, not knowing what was going on as a child, he and his family moved to Las Vegas,Nevada in 1999. When he and his family arrived at Las Vegas, Nevada, he discovered many new things to do as a young child growing up. So he decides to stop creating music for a while. After a few months of getting accustomed to a new state he hasn't been in before, he starts to play basketball. At the age of 6, Brent then says, " When I grow up, I want to become a professional basketball player and become a part of the NBA." From there he played and practiced basketball for almost 6 years. By the time he reached the age of 11, he wanted to do something else besides basketball. So he thought of break dancing. He thought he was great at it, but by heart ,he knew that break dancing wasn't his type of style. After 2 months of dancing, he stopped. He did other activities during the long run, but he always felt that he wasn't the best. Then, that's when he began to step into music again, but this time he wanted to push himself to becoming a more professional musician. So he starts off by recording songs, using his webcam microphone. Brent began his music career at the age of 12. When he composed his first song with his little brother called "Come Back Baby", a remix of "Bust it Baby", originally created by Plies and Ne-Yo ,he let his relatives listen to it, along with his family members. They enjoyed it, along other listeners he never thought he would gain. They say it was great, but as they were listening to it, they decide to critique Brent. They explain to Brent to speak louder when recording or talking onto a Microphone. So, when Brent started to compose other songs, he tried speaking louder. By the time he knew how to control his volume, he begins to record his own songs from there without his little brother. By the time he released his first two solo tracks, he steps up to another level by posting his songs up on the internet. He starts of with YouTube as his first promotional tool towards his compositions. After posting his first two solo tracks called "King Kong Remix" and Still "Fly Remix", he gains viewers. Some of his viewers were astonished. They leave him comments saying he sounds terrific. After reading through the positive feedback he received, he began to write more songs. His fans and viewers is what keeps him motivated to always create music. After posting more songs on his channel, he just kept gaining more feedback. He never felt so happy in his life. Then things started to change. As Brent develops his skill to writing and recording songs professionally, he begins to receive negative feedback about his previous releases. Brent felt hurt and outraged after going through numerous negativity, but that still never stopped him from accomplishing what he wanted the most when he first started creating music. Most of the negative feedback he received were about his quality, rhyming skills, and flow. From there, he stopped and took a break from uploading music for a while. Through his break off music, he studies reviews, articles, references, etc. on how to record like a professional recording artist. Not only that but, he also studies the art of different sound qualities when composing a song or hearing a sound. Months after studying professional recording and the art of sounds, Brent finally obtains the sound quality he's been looking for. Not only did he gain the sound he wanted and proper techniques on how to record but he also gained knowledge about music. During his time of study with sound and techniques to recording, he studies the history and stories of Hip-Hop as well. Stepping back into the game in 2008, Brent continues his process to succeed and pursue his music career. When 2009 came, he gained experience as an individual rapper and finally got his own style and voice, but before he even achieved this, he studied different styles and voices from other hip-hop and rap artists' during his time of study. He began to study his influences first. His biggest influences were Eminem, Tupac, Jibbs, Chamillionaire, Jin, and of course, his personal favorite, T.I.. Brent studied T.I.'s style and voice. After mimicking his voice on some of his recordings, he decides to combine his own voice with his voice, getting the sound he wants. After Brent has made a major improvement , he's been improving more and more excessively. He works to become the best rapper. Brent doesn't claim to be the best rapper, but like I said, he is working up to be the best. Brent is the writer, composer, recording artist and producer for all his songs and music videos. Throughout his time to becoming a great recording artist, he decides to promote himself to other listeners and viewers. From there, he's been asking many people for support and help just to spread him around the internet until he constructed an enormous fan base filled with a great amount of listeners and viewers who enjoy the new material he releases. He hopes everyone would help his movement. After 4 years of promoting, he barely gained 3000 subscribers. All Brent wanted to do was to let the whole world listen to his music and let them enjoy what he offers. Brent prays to become very successful as a solo artist. Waiting and hoping to get signed to a major record label. Brent says, "When I get signed, I don't want all the money. Instead I'll just give it to my family and relatives because they've been helping me since I was a child, and PLUS, they need it the most. Why do I need so much money if I know I'm not going to use all of it. I would always put my music career over money." Not only that, but he also says, "To tell you the truth, I only want to share my music out there to millions of people, hoping they will enjoy it. Each day I try my best to create the greatest record. If they enjoy the material I put out, I'm happy. There happiness is my reward. That's what motivates me to create new music everyday basically." So, give me two main reasons why you want to get signed? " I want to get signed because first off, I only want the world to listen to my music and enjoy it. Secondly, I want to get signed because I want to perform in many concerts, gigs, showcases, festivals, etc.. I even want to go to radio stations and photo shoots to rap and perform. The reason for that is because I want the people to see the talent I possess." Do you only rap? "At the moment, I'm working on my vocals so I can sing." Have you ever performed on a real stage before? "I did perform in talent shows, but not on a real stage." Have you ever performed in 18+ clubs? "No, I never performed in clubs before because first off, my parents wouldn't allow me, along with some bookers, but why can't I perform in 18+ clubs if the people in the club will hear my music eventually." Are you confident about succeeding your music career? "All day, everyday!" When you finally get signed to a label, what will you do? "Work 50 times harder, and make more songs. I want to make HITS!" Is that all? "At the moment, yes, but it's all up to the manager I receive, and the label I'm signed too." Good luck -Anonymous
