Harmonica player and vocalist Beth Kohnen currently plays as an amplified Chicago Blues duo with guitar maistro Rusty Zinn. Their sound is at once thoroughly traditional and utterly personal. Beth's compelling harmonica style is radiantly sweet and full of deep grindy Chicago tone. Rusty is the first choice accompanist for the world's finest harmonica players and together they offer the kind of playing that reminds you why Chicago style harp remains fresh, valid and meaningful more than 60 years after its birth. Beth grew up in South Portland, Maine and graduated from Syracuse University in music and art. She met Rusty in 1998 in the San Francisco East Bay while sitting in on harmonica with Grammy Award winning Steve Freund. Beth has two well received CD's to her name and is in process of recording her third (and fourth) with Rusty. Rusty Zinn was nominated for the very prestigious W.C. Handy Award and his own discography includes 5 critically acclaimed recordings. Beth books as a solo act at farmers markets and small dinner parties, as a duo or full band with Rusty Zinn.
