Portrait of Birds of Wales

Birds of Wales

About Birds of Wales

Toronto, Canada

Birds of Wales make great pets. They have also toured Europe five times with everyone from Xavier Rudd to The Sadies, had their video for "Cinderella" on full rotation on MuchMoreMusic, received tons of radio play across North America and the UK, as well as playing countless headlining spots. Birds of Wales are headquartered out of Toronto, Canada, and inevitably spend most of their time on the road.

Birds of Wales have toured with the likes of Xavier Rudd, Mishka, 54-40, as well as sharing the stage with Lights, Marianas Trench, The New Amsterdams, The Beautiful South, as well as hundreds more - including a spot at VFEST Toronto in 2007 with the Smashing Pumpkins, The Killers and MIA.

Tracks from Birds of Wales' first CD received significant airplay on Canadian commercial & college radio, and have been broadcast across North America on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio. In fact, My Lady; in July was the most played song on "The Verge," XM's new music station, in June 2006. Birds of Wales has also earned the attention of fans in Europe, releasing their Fall of the 49 CD in the UK and Spain on Invisible Hands Music (Thomas Dolby, The JAM) following five successful European tours in 16 months time. The first single from this disc, Cinderella (Has Nothing on You), was featured on a compilation CD - 560,000 copies of which were distributed throughout Ireland earlier this year. The video for Cinderella also was on full rotation on MuchMoreMusic in Canada.

Birds of Wales recently finished a stint at Austin's SXSW festival, and look forward to upcoming Canadian shows.
