story through rap by vonstanlance the stressin collegian april 2004, i won a rap battle at william paterson university hosted by doug e. fresh and sponsored by the naacp september 2003, i was given a two minute segment on the upn 9 news, in new york september 2003 i was selected to appear as an amateur on showtime at the apollo, in new york may 2002, i was featured in the new jersey star ledger newspaper my name is lavonte antoine brown-dupree aka blackout or vonstalance,i am 27 years old born and raised, by a single mother, in the rough city of paterson, new jersey I graduated college in 2006 with a degree in communications. i hostes a radio show at the college, and i hosted shows at the college, where i have also performed. i write poetry and i write rap songs, i have performed in some local shows displaying my rapping skills i grew up loving rap, being a rapper is my dream, so i started recording gangster rap songs, because that is what i grew up on, then once i went to college, my eyes were open to a different world. in college we go through a lot of stress, so i started rapping about the college life, i also rap about how i overcame having my life threatened by (2) brain surgery operations, so my rap style covers different experiences of my life i have completed numerous original songs, and the songs are hot i have overcome tremendous obstacles in my life, i am a survivor of 2 major brain tumor surgery operations currently my dreams and goals are to become a professional rapper or a writer for a major record label, i would also like to become an actor or a commentator if i can make it then so can you thank you the stressin collegian god first
