Biography

I am delighted to introduce to you a phenomenal group of young men who call themselves A.K.F. They are a mixture of present day rap music and, what you would call, the hip-hop genre. The incredible balance of both types of music and their ability to produce single after single using their own in-house production and jaw-dropping lyrics has catapulted them onto the path of success in a matter of months. In October 2006, A.K.F. had it’s first release with the “We Iz What It Iz” mixtape. With their southern, bass-heavy production, awe-inspiring lyrical ability, and brain-penetrating hook structure, their first mixtape release was an instant hit in their area. Boasting songs such as the fly guy anthems “How To” and “So G,” the lyrical excellence of the title track “We Iz What It Iz,” the bass-pounding street anthem “No Nuts, No Glory,” and the female fan favorite, “Naked,” their fan base began to grow immensely and spread into surrounding cities. Popularity also brought tons of shows their way in 2006 and 2007. Most importantly, it gave them the opportunity to compete for the right to be mentioned as Cleveland’s best group in the fall of 2006, a competition between numerous groups in the area for a chance to be set above the rest. A.K.F. took home the trophy from the event with ease and it was the start of the buzz about the greatness and energy of their performances. On March 30th, 2007, the second mixtape was released, Mayhem’s “I Love Myself, I Love My Money.” Following behind the success of its predecessor, it wouldn’t have the luxury of slacking in any way, shape, or form. So using the same formula as “We Iz What It Iz,” only with more lyrically inclined verses and more hip-hop intervention, “I Love Myself, I Love My Money” instantly became a must-have CD in the area. With an indelible collection of tracks such as “Tha Wait Iz Over,“ featuring Jay-Five, “They Lookin’ At Me,” “Tha Flu,” “Nut Up,” and “No More Cryin,” they capture your ear with an unparalleled brilliance not seen in artists of their age bracket. Surpassing the total sales of the first release in only 3 weeks (compared to 7 months), the Mayhem mixtape began to gain the attention of rappers, producers, and DJ’s nationwide and took their notoriety to another level. Now we will go from the start of their success, to the actual start of A.K.F. It all started in Rob Bruce’s basement about five years ago. He, Mass, and Akright decided to record a song on the computer one day with the idea that they could do better than the artists that were out at the time. The track actually turned out pretty good. They played it for everybody in the neighborhood and received a lot of positive feedback. It sparked the interest of a few others to join also. From there, the core of the A.K.F. family was beginning to form. Rob Bruce, Mass, Akright, A.D., Hostyle, and S.Y.R.U.S.S. had come together with one goal in mind; to succeed and set a new and higher standard in the music industry. As time passed, they added members (Hood Vicious, BL, Flash, Richie, and Candi), a large entourage (Edwin, Frog, Marcus, Jon, Merk, Jeff, E-Man, Dave, Brian Howe, Lawrence, Kyle, Randy and many more), and management (Marc Ville) to complete the camp. So, one day, in the near future, I believe this group of remarkable young men will be a force to be reckoned with in this industry, and in all aspects. The songs, the songwriting, the production, the stage presence, the ability to cross over genres, and overall knowledge of music are in a class of its own. Prepare for the revolution.
