You'll find yourself singing along even though you've never heard the words. Brent writes from the heart, he writes from his life experience which few can match. His songs are about growin' up and growin' old ... holdin' on and lettin' go .. going to war and findin' peace within', fallin' in love and fallin' out of love .. just to find love again ..he writes of good times and bad , gettin' drunk and gettin' sober , fightin' his demons and seein' the face of God and all the paths that lead from small towns to big cities and every road in between. Brent is currently living in Nashville where he writes and performs every chance he gets. Brent is always looking to find co-writers of any style. Brent picked up his first guitar when he was 19. Honestly, all he wanted to do was sit on the tailgate of his truck and sing Hank Williams songs, but now he wants other folks to sit on the tailgate of a truck and sing Brent Ellis songs. Music is his passion. He hopes to touch peoples lives and make a difference in the world through his songs. Brent has lived life to it's fullest. He spent several years as the lead singer of various local bands but they fell short of his creative vision and ambition. After September 11th it was clear to Brent that he needed to do what very few would make the sacrifice to do. He put his music career on hold and answered the call of duty and joined the US Army to defend our liberty and freedom. He did what he thought any man should do who loves his country and stands up for what he believes in. He spent 3 1/2 years serving our country. One of those years was spent in Camp Taji and Camp Liberty Iraq where he faced the enemy head on and recieved numerous combat awards for his bravery. During his time there he was inspired to complete a song he had previously been working on. The very powerful and tear tugging "The Soldier Song". Since he's returned home from the Army Brent has been keeping himself busy writing everyday and adding songs to his catalog of future hits. He also attends writers nights and networks every chance he gets in and around the Nashville area to get his music out to the industry and the people. Brent Ellis is a breath of fresh country air. He writes songs that are true to life and speak to your soul. He stands by his convictions. His strength and faith never waivers. He is always true to himself and that comes across in the songs he writes and the way he carries himself. Brent Ellis is pure american country. He's blue collar, he's a true believer in God , he loves his mama, he likes his beer cold and his whiskey strong. All he needs is his martin guitar and the inspiration in the crazy life he lives and the comfort of knowin his daughters are in good hands and he's got all he needs to keep the songs of life flowin' from his heart like a river of memories.
