I had my hands on a piano keyboard before I could walk. I learned to read music before I learned to read books. In a way, this album is the result of years of learning to communicate through the keys of a piano. I started my life in a town in Central Pennsylvania. We inherited the family piano, and the curiosity of a child quickly turned into an obsession. The kind neighborhood piano teacher took me under her wing at the age of 3 and patiently began to teach me how to organize the sounds of the keys into music. With every year that passed, I found myself more and more involved with playing and writing music. As a teen, I added singing to my passions. I took this commitment to the craft of music to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I further developed my skills and explored the inner artist. Although I always tend to gravitate towards piano based rock music, I have always had a great love for many different genres. My own CD collection often baffles friends, though they are often grateful for my wide tastes when they find a favorite in my stash. Classical, jazz, rock, country, hip-hop, Latin pop, you name it, I probably have it. It’s in the exposure to all these different styles that we find who we truly are as artists. In addition to my own performance work, through the years I’ve also coached and produced many artists in all styles of music. When it comes to my own music, I produced myself no different than I would any other artist. I worked to find my voice, my individual style and I built a record around that. What I believe I achieved in the end is an album that is a true reflection of who I am as a person and the kind of artist I want to be.
