Ryan Alexander Phillips was born on the 30th of December in 1985. At the age of 24, Ryan Phillips has shared the stage with many major acts playing guitar for the late singer Ben Bledsoe and his band The Shoreline. The acts include: Between The Trees, Hanson, Filter, A Day To Remember, Matchbox 20’s ex Guitarist’s band, etc. Ryan Phillips started playing music at a very young age. His first instrument was the drums at age 3. He would play to the music of Billy Joel, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd and many others. He began to take music lessons at the school of music for children at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. He soon would find his interests shifting towards a more melodic instrument at age 7. The first time Ryan picked up the guitar, he instantly learned “Come as you are” from Nirvana and the next year would have the whole “Master of Puppets” album from Metallica practically memorized. Shortly after he started picking up music from the likes of Van Halen, Pantera, Eric Clapton and many more. While Ryan was receiving lessons at Stetson, he soon would be given an important lesson to him. This is when he began to learn more about the guitar and what he was capable of. Since a young age, Ryan was obsessed with guitar solo’s but the most valuable lesson anyone every told him was from a guitar instructor and hair stylist, Dave Seigel, whom stated “if you ever want to be a creative guitarist and a great musician, it’s not the solo that impresses but how well you can write music and songs”. Since then Ryan stopped taking lessons and began writing. A 4 track tape recorder was given to him as a gift at 12 years old. Soon his passion for writing and creating music blossomed. During middle school Ryan had formed a band in 7th grade with his friends Jared Lynn and Chad Ellis called Untitled. Ryan also kept the music going throughout high school but ,due to the fact that there were not many musicians in his school he began playing whenever and wherever his friends would ask him. During high school Ryan Phillips was a four year Varsity starter for the Soccer team and avidly surfed and skateboarded during his leisure time. This never stopped him from having his guitar at his side or in his truck for whenever he felt the urge to play. After high school Ryan attended Valencia Community College and enrolled in their music production and engineering program. The interest in music became more clear when he knew that recording and mixing would soon become more of his musical life. Ryan Phillips graduated Valencia with an Associates in Arts and Associates in Science from their music production program. During those years, he played as a guitarist for bands Letterperfect and The Shoreline. The Shoreline becoming more successful, he got to travel nationally and tour with the band. The band soon came to an undefined halt as their luck with drummers was declining. After school Ryan began to take more interest in recording. He bought studio gear and equipment and started his own home recording studio. The bands he has worked with include: Boxer and Clover, The Whale and The Wave, Mirror Pal and others. During that time and whatever free time he had, he began writing music and creating a sound he has been looking for which includes rock and pop areas and also country influences. Soon Ryan will be looking to start playing shows with his new project and more than likely still be connected with fans from the past as they show support for his new act. Major influences include: Brad Paisley, Eddie Van Halen,Dave Mathews, Dave Segal, Steve Robinson, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Rascal Flatts, Boston, Switchfoot, Bob Marley, Incubus, Stevie Ray Vaugh, Dimebag Darrell (RIP) and Tom Petty Equipment used are: Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Tennessee Custom, Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, Taylor 410 series, Fender Stratocaster Self Customized Amps: Marshall DSL 2000 and 1967 4x12 Cab, Fender Blues Reissue Deluxe Pedals: crybaby, boss, yamaha, ibanez Microphones: Audix OM2, Shure SM 58 Strings: Elixir Acoustic nano web 12 gauge(e) and Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar
