"The dragonfly landed on her violin bow and stayed there for several minutes..." A few years later, virtuoso violinist, self-described dork and proud Sagittarian, singer-songwriter Caitlin Moe would realize that was the day her musical wings began carrying her on an incredible worldwide journey all at the whim of the mystery of the Dragonfly. Ever-changing, free and filled with color, so too was the genesis of Caitlin's music career. The blonde bombshell first discovered the violin when she was four, but it wasn't until high school, under the tutelage of her beloved teacher and mentor Mr. "Nubie" Nubern, that she began to realize it was her destiny. His guidance and encouragement not only formed her musical development, but made sure it continued by reminding her that "Those who abandon their dreams discourage yours." He also instilled in her the understanding that music can touch people in many ways, prompting her creation of a program dedicated to bringing music to underprivileged inner-city youth, to which she is still committed today. After graduating high school where she was a Cum Laude recipient and cross country and track star, Caitlin briefly attended George Washington University. With wanderlust as her companion and armed with Nubie's words and a Dragonfly necklace he'd given her, she moved to Warsaw, Poland, to pursue music. It was here she wrote her first song, "Siren Song," an eclectic 7-part violin instrumental piece. Before long, she was in Mumbai, India, for her first International tour opening the VH1 sessions concert in dramatic style. It was here she met Rob Hoffman and Heather Holley of Elicit Music, songwriters/producers/managers who not only wrote the song that got Christina Aguilera signed, but wrote and produced on every subsequent Christina release. In her debut album, Caitlin Moe pays homage to her mentor and continues the journey into the unknown with contemporary pop tracks infused with her own unique style. Her classical background gives her songwriting another dimension as she performs vivid imaginative compositions live by layering each violin and vocal part with a loop station. With wisdom beyond her young years, her lyrics soulfully explore the mysteries of love, soul-mates and reincarnation. Caitlin Moe's debut CD promises to tantalize and delight with its whimsical exploration, light and ever-changing color… like a Dragonfly.
