Half way through 2009 five mates from Perth, having been around the scene in other bands, decided to sit down and write an EP that would satisfy their collective love of particular genres of music. After an intense writing period and with the help of Matty Gio [Producer] and Forrester Savell [Mixing,Mastering] (Dead Letter Circus, Karnivool, Butterfly Effect) Chasing The Ninth have returned from Melbourne having completed their first EP Subway to Sleeping Cities – out September 2010. Since winning the “I am with the Band” Novafm Competition There has been a massive ground swell for Chasing The Ninth, who while only 7 shows into their band’s career have sold out their last few shows, garnering respect from the Perth scene earning themselves a reputation as an incredibly tight band loaded with hard hitting grooves and catchy melodies. Currently just finished filming the “Tales of Empathy” Video Clip through Robert Livings and Liam Underwood and playing to a full house on their single launch at Rosemount Hotel, Chasing the Ninth are very pleased with the outcome which has also flourished their name throughout the whole Perth music scene. Even though Chasing the Ninth have not been around for long, you would never have guessed it hearing their professional sound, and when they push the boundaries of common composition and performance technique. Blending intense driving guitars, booming rhythms, and electro, Chasing The Ninth are intent on striving forward and creating an undeniable sound for everyone to enjoy. Keep your eyes peeled for the release of their EP “Subway to Sleeping Cities” at Amplifier Bar on the 3rd of September followed with a national tour.
