With the encouragement from his mother Chaz began honing his talent for singing, dancing and acting at the Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts in Virginia at the age of 16 years old, and beginning his journey into the world of Live Stage, Background vocals, demos, and eventually performing all over the world. He’s had the opportunity to entertain in various styles of music from Musical theatre, R&B, Pop and Classical as well. It was the natural progression of R&B music that held his attention and still becomes prevalent in most of his music. " I wouldn't say that it is completely R&B stylistically, but the elements are there.” Since moving to Nashville in '96, Chaz has had the opportunity to work for various publishing and record companies singing demos, background and lead on projects of different styles such as R&B, Pop, Gospel and Musical theatre. He's been sited singing with artists such as Michael McDonald, Larry Carlton, Clay Crosse, Darwin Hobbs, Michael English, Bekka Bramlett, Chris Willis and up and coming artist such as Lucy Woodward and Candace Jones. Since 2005 Chaz has been a part of production casts with the Gary Musick Production Company as a lead vocalist on Celebrity Cruises which travel all over the world. Chaz is the ultimate perfectionist. He uses this in every area of his life which offers its ups and downs. Over the past 5 years in addition to his singing, Chaz has been sharpening his skills at the art of songwriting. “I write the kind of song that is simply Human Relations 101. I love to write songs that stay in your mind. Whether it be with a contagious melody or a lyric that makes you think about life, I love every facet of song writing.” There has been growing interest in his work since starting his own Publishing Company Chaztastic Music. Some songs of interest are “Wonderful Day” which has a bad day turn good and “Walk Again” which speaks about relationship understanding between a man and a woman; both co-written with guitar co-writer friend James Harrison. "Walk Again" has been the cornerstone of his writing that has peaked interest from various recording artist to record as their own! He also has songs that have been written solely by him about his life experiences of love, lost and how WE should treat each other. Since Chaz has moved to New York he has signed with Val's Artist Management to help allow his voice and music to be heard world-wide via commercials, jingles and potential album placement. "I am very thankful to Val for giving me an outlet to sing for a living in the most talented city in the world". Chaz has been found singing his music in various places in the world such as Brazil, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Chile, New York and previous home Nashville, Tn. Chaz hopes to have his music reach people where they are in whatever place they are in their life. It doesn’t matter if you are in a relationship or not, black or white, rich or poor, happy or sad, have a mother or a father or both, Chaz has the music for you!
