The twelve song album is filled with songs with an undeniable sense of melody and unforgettable hooks that leave you humming the choruses long after the songs have faded from your speakers. From the heavier, guitar-fueled tracks like Whoodoo Voodoo and Redemption, to the well-layered vocal arrangements in Thank You, Days Gone By and Come Down, it is not hard to envision a number of the albums tracks blaring over mainstream radio airways. Other songs, such as the Zeppelin-influenced tile track, Shades of Revolution, or the just plain fun and mayhem in Running from Zombies, offer the listener a wide range of styles and sounds. While there truly may be nothing new under the sun, CJ’s vocal delivery and guitar licks add an original sound missing from much of the new releases today. For better or worse, this record does not sound like anything else on the market today. With clear throwback influences and undertones such as Lenny Kravitz, Zakk Wylde and hints of Alice in Chains, CJ offers the listener a rock album with great depth and versatility.
