Biography

Colé is a well known singer who has entertained crowds around South Africa and Namibia for many years. She has also performed in England, Scotland, Cyprus, Paris and the Scottish Isles at many types of events from massive music festivals, Casinos and holiday resorts to West End theatre productions. Colé is a well known singer who has entertained crowds around South Africa and Namibia for many years. She has also performed in England, Scotland, Cyprus, Paris and the Scottish Isles at many types of events from massive music festivals, Casinos and holiday resorts to West End theatre productions. She completed her training in ‘Rock, pop and soul singing’ with Carol Grimes at London’s City Lit College in 2004 and her vocals have been compared to artists such as Shakira, Alanis Morisette, Tori Amos, Celine Dion and Madonna. A mezzo soprano with a lower E to top C range and a strong rock/pop belt, she comfortably performs all genre’s from pop/rock to jazz. She has had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists such as Bonnie Tyler, Village People, Julian Marley (son of Bob Marley), Lemar, Watershed, Claire Johnston (Mango Groove), Steve Hofmeyer, Just Ginger, Boo, Dozi, Patricia Lewis, 5X band, Malaika, Shawn Harvey, to name a few. She has performed at 1000’s of events including festivals like The Rand Easter show, Dias Festival, Bloemfontein Rainbow show (South Africa); Ukkasie fees, Earlscourt festival, Nottinghill Carnival (England); Agia Napa stadium (Cyprus) and on the beautiful Isle of Skye to name a few. In UK she has done regular performances at Hyde park’s ‘Pizza on the Park’ (jazz club), The Hilton Hotels, Madam Tausauds wax muzeum, and touring Park and Haven holiday resorts. She has performed at Sun City (since 1994 till current performances at Valley of the Waves, The Palace, Harlequins, Cabanas, Cascades and corporate events), Grace land casino (with previous girlband Simply Irresistable), Monte casino, toured Aventura holiday resorts; and has done festival tours in South Africa and Namibia since 1996. Colé has recorded in South Africa (Universal studios) contributing to the 2001 hit compilation album ‘SA se grootste treffers’, then released ‘a tribute to Tina Turner’, ‘A song for you’ and in UK she recorded songs for UK musical theatre director/writer, Peter Greenwall's hit comedy show 'Flopstar' (www.logicalstupidity.com) and recorded house tracks for various projects. She has also written lyrics and melodies for UK bands and projects. In 2008 she presents her new album ‘Sentimental’, a compilation of mostly self penned jazz, pop and latin tracks in English and Afrikaans. ‘Tears with Champange’, written by Peter Greenwall was awarded a place on The World song Contest 2006 compilation CD and DVD,(http://www.worldsongcontest.biz/WSC/contestants.html), released internationally. Her songs 'Ruby in the dust' and 'Daai tipe meisie' is currently in the top ten hits on several radio stations including East Rand Stereo and IFM. A versatile film, TV and theatre actress, Colé played the role of Prince Harry’s girlfriend in his documentary on ITV (England), toured UK and Scotland playing lead roles in musical theatre productions ‘Grease’ and ‘Flopstar’; and hosted her own alternative health TV show, 'Mind body Spirit' on SKY TV in 2005 which she hosted, wrote and co-produced. This succesful live talk-show show was broadcasted to millions of viewers to over 180 Northern hemisphere countries on a bi-weekly basis, where Colé interviewed many health gurus, and regular nutritionists on the show who were trained by Dr. Patrick Holford. Her voice has been used for voice-overs in corporate videos, an animation short-film and radio advert. She has been live MC on many events including IWF wrestling matches, Earlscourt festival for 3 years, beauty pageants and product launches.Colé makes an excellent compere/ MC for any event. She has appeared on many TV shows and films as actress, body double or as herself, including UK Pop Idol presenters Ant and Dec’s movie ‘Alien Autopsy’ (as a film executive from SA), Boys & girls, Trevor’s world of sports, ITV Comedy sketch shows, The Rotter’s club, Family affairs, Colour me Kubrick, Basic instinkt2, Midsummer murders, The Conversation collector, Sheraton SKyline hotel training video, KTV, Jam Alley, Lets chat (SKY TV), The Toasty show, Teleschool amongst others. Colé performs original and chart covers of a wide variety of artists (Christina Augulera, Celine Dion, The Corrs, Shakira, etc...) in a variety of genre’s/styles including rock, pop, jazz, ballads, dance, oldies in a 1 hour show. She performs either solo (with backing tracks) or as a duo/ trio (guitarist & keyboardist) or band with multicultural musicians to suit all types of audiences. She also has solo tribute shows where she perform and dresses as the original artist. These include The James bond Golden hits show (songs from the bond movies), Shania Twain tribute, Kylie Minogue tribute, Madonna tribute and Shakira. The tribute shows are anything from 15 to 45 minutes long depending on the occasion and requirements and are best suited for an indoor/theatre venue. Colé is a member of the Creative workers Union of South Africa (CWUSA) and active in the Gender Committee and Provincial Committee. She represented SA this year as a delegate at the 19th FIM congress (International federation of musicians) for the 1st time ever held in South Africa.
