Drawing influences from the confluence of artists in both the past and present jam band scenes, Los ComoSapiens have melded a new brew of good time FUNK music for all to enjoy. This synthesis has spawned a unique style forged from well synchronized grooves, intra-band communication, interaction with the environment, and glistening solos. The tamber created has permeated deep within the band, and is evident in the bands diverse line-up of original tunes (reggae, bluegrass, jazz, and FUNK,) with a carefully chosen set of covers. In the fall of 2006, while studying at the University of Minnesota, Ricky and Brett began collaborating on a series of original songs. Carl, Jake, and Mookie have since joined the gravy-train, and it's a whole lot of magic from then on. The band has developed a serious practice regiment, and added almost two dozen original songs to their suitcase of creativeness. We have been in the studio twice this year working with some talented students, and in time the ComoSapiens are looking to expand their fan base, and start playing some beautiful mid-western venues.
