At the ripe old age of Eighteen, Corey Wagar has accomplished a great deal far beyond her years. Inspired and motivated by her family growing up in New Jersey she experienced the thrill and exhilaration of great country music consistently filling the household. This influence only further enhanced her passion for the marvelous genre of country. It wasn't long until she began writing, in addition to her love and talent for stage performance. While in Nashville she continued the songwriting process with some of country music's best known songwriters such as Jamie O'Neal, Karen Staley, and Preston Brust. Corey's musical influences range widely from a variety of country stars like Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood to the more contemporary style of Miranda Lambert. Teaming up with some of the Nashville greats she found a mentor and partner in famed Nashville music producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton, Keith Whitley, Hank Williams Jr, Reba McEntire) along with well known songwriter / guitarist Gordon Brown, (RCA Nashville, Epic/Sony). She has performed hundreds of high profile shows in both Nashville, New Jersey, and regionally, and with her career accelerating rapidly at every turn she is moving up the ladder quickly, also supporting such national acts the likes of Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum, Kellie Pickler, Ashton Shepherd, Gloriana, Bo Bice, and the list goes on. So what does the deeply emotional feeling of country music mean to Corey? "I fell in love with country music because every song tells a human story, shares our feelings and moods and sets a tone. I love the harmony and how country conveys laid back bare emotion as well as evoking powerful and exciting scenarios in all our lives; for as long as I can remember, I've wanted to have the ability to touch people's hearts and to make them love music as much as I do". Having already had some of her tracks spun on radio (New Jersey's Thunder 106.3) it's only the beginning. Recently signed to Kent Wells Nashville label, GTR Records, Corey will be releasing a single "Hurricane" from her debut album on April 25th; the feature song from her upcoming full length record "On the Edge" earmarked for release in the summer of 2011. A national radio tour is scheduled to begin in May of 2011. This young fiery country artist may by some be considered to be in the infancy of her career but one thing is for sure; it won't be long until she reaches a pinnacle that rivals the country greats. And when that happens and she is asked if she can retain her artistic integrity when she reaches the ultimate commercial success she answers, "Absolutely – Artistic integrity is what it's all about – being true to my fans and most importantly myself.
