Right from the beginning the members of Crimson Envy have had a definite common interest in the goals and challenges that were right ahead of them. Crimson Envy began in the small west Texas town of Levelland in 2003, where three of the members, Cameran Nelson, Charles Garner and Tatum Ruthardt were attending South Plains College School of Music. Over several months of polishing their act and fine tuning their sound, Crimson Envy became a local favorite amongst the college crowd in Lubbock, TX. At this time Crimson Envy had sifted through numerous drummers. Matt Moffitt, a long time friend of Cameran was the first drummer to fill these shoes. After Matt, the band found a drummer that seemed to fit the band's style a little more tightly. Daniel Pogue out of Midland Texas then took the throne for the next year. During that year the band grew a solid friendship between each other and grew even more as band mates. This was also a pivotal point in the band's career. In 2005 Crimson Envy was selected to play two major Label showcases, the first in Denver, Colorado, and the second at the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas, Texas. No record contracts were signed but this experience had shown the band how much they could accomplish in such a short time. Before the year could finish, the band found themselves again in need of a drummer. Through several auditions the band hired Nick Sanchez. Nick had filled in with the band several times before, so it was not as hard of a transition this time around. Nick only played with the band for three short months. After Nick, Crimson Envy was again in search for the right drummer. Matt Bennett of Static Union took the throne in mid 2006. With writing ever evolving the band also hired a second Guitar player in August of 2007. Aaron Collier also from former band Static Union would be the fifth and final member of Crimson Envy. With Matt and Aaron on board, Crimson Envy is now a solid rock band that will continue finding the way to get to the next level. Crimson Envy has collectively shared the stage with such renowned acts as Adema, Anthrax, Bowling for Soup, Chevelle, Edgewater, Element 80, Fair to Midland, Faktion, Miser, Socialburn, Stereomud, Un Loco, Alterbridge, Everclear, and The Vanished. Crimson Envy has been a local favorite since 2004. Their influences include bands such as Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Tool, Alice in Chains, Hurt, Seether, and many more. With their Debut album “The Fallen” released in June of 2008, the band will continue pursuing their dreams and keep rocking Texas.
