One of the most versitile MCs/Producers out of philly Heem is well conditioned to prepare himself for his new entry into the local music scene. Heem developed his passion for hip hop in High School when he used to listen to his older peers beat box on the lunchroom tables.. Heem began to record songs in his basement with his best friend when he would bring instrumentals from the high school Dj later known as Dj Don Cannon from the Aphilyates. Dreams of becoming of rapper came to a stop when Heem was introduced to a temporary life of petty crimes and run ins with the law. Having no option in making his life better Heem entered the United States Army at the advice of his sister. While in the military stationed in Ft Lee Virgina Heem met Eric Sample from Texas who with him would later join a group when stationed in Killeen Texas called Foundayshun... For the first time Heem was recording in studios, and made classic music like "Pressa", and "What You Workin With" which even received radio spins. Foundayshuns success caught the attention of boxing champion Roy Jones Jr, and they did a few show with Roys Jones Hiphopera ... Foundayshun would fall apart when Heem went awol from the military and moved to Colorado Springs. Heem was taken in by local artist Dirty Jew where he was introduced to another genre of music " Jungle Music" and observed producer Beeno create locals hits for artist like Jackie Bond, and Jew. Heem would open for the crew with battle lyrics, and the crowd loved his deep raspy voice. Heem returned to Philly in 2001, and began to be lured back into the streets with his cousin Donnie aka D-Block. Rap was far from his mind, but mid summer he met a local rapper in Upper Darby named Darq. Heem hung around Darq studio talking about music, and never mentioned that he was ever serious about rapping. Heem told Darq that his motivation was gone because of the incarceration of his cousin Lil, and when Lil came home he would give it a shot. The same summer Lil came home, and Heem recorded in the studio for the fist time, and amazed Darq and the producer D-Traxx. Heem and Lil joined New Blood Records along with B-Steele. They recorded non stop all summer with a classic banger called Work Something featuring Nina Capone. New Blood fell apart, and once again Heem was back to the same things. In 2004 Heem decided to relocate to Jacksonville Florida to get away from his demons, and he was re-introduced to southern hip hop. Heem learned how to trade his word play around mixing his " Up North" style with the southern genre. He had the opportunity to meet the likes of Bun B, Young Cash, Young Joc, Boosie and Webbie, Young Jeezy, and his producing idle M Geezy. Understanding the southern hustle of song music Heem has incorporated his new sound today after returning back to Philly in 2007 where he was welcomed by his long time family friend Mugg Mann and joining Blue Chips due the untimely murder of Heems cousin Lil. Heem feels that the level he is on is due to the guide of his cousin from the heavens. Heem is also a proud priest of the Yoruba and Santeria community which he plans to record an album dedicated to the culture in which he was raised...
