DARRELL HILL When one mentions RnB music in the DC metropolitan area, people are quick to speak upon the likes of Johnny Gill, Ginuwine and Raheem Devaungh, but our Nation’s Capitol has many of rising underground talents of this genre amongst them is Darrell Hill Hill, a talented tenor who was traditionally brought up in the church, where he pays homage to his beginnings. He has been compared to some of the most influential soul artists of all time. After proving himself on the local band circuit, he soon realized that he had set his goals at much higher standards. He later gained international acclaim, when he joined the RnB group 9T9 Percent. Their first album received rave reviews, but had lackluster sales due to poor marketing and promotional efforts. Soon after an east coast tour, the quartet disbanded and Darrell then decided to take the business side of things into his own hands. After the break up, he kept busy by studio work with artists such as Carlos Santana,Mary Mary, Kay Gee of Naughty By Nature fame, D.J. Eddie F, Havoc Of Mobb Deep and the surviving members of RnB group Intro. He soon caught the ear of Ain’t Signed Yet? Management and embarked on a new solo journey. This time around with a bit more patience, a good management team behind him, the proper promotional and marketing tactics and a new single “He’s Doing Wrong” he’s setting out to leave his mark and signature sound on the music industry
