D-DRO Nomadic in nature and his music, D-Dro takes his Queens, NY upbringing, Hatian and West Indian lineage and combines it with experiences living in the south, Connecticut and the Virgin Islands. Born Darrel Desrosiers, D-Dro came up in the rap game under the guidance of his cousin and Lost Boyz group member, Mr. Cheeks. After several years of being on the road with Mr. Cheeks and the Lost Boyz, D-Dro finally answered his calling and began to invest in himself as a rap artist. He started Paper Chaser Productions and embarked on his current CD The Best Revenge is Living Well. The project has a New York street feel with a a collaboration of Dirty South rap and R & B. D-Dro is far from the stereotypical artist. He says it's not important to rap about what's popular but more about his personal life and what he has encountered. The CD is a clear indication of D-Dro's nomadic behavior, he goes from the strip club to the party, to the streets, to the bedroom and back. However, in the cut Work it Out featuring Shamar Woods, D-Dro exhibits a softer, more personal side when he talks about his daughter and past relationships. D-Dro ensures his listeners know exactly what he's experiencing. His lyrics are beyond specific and down right to the point. With each song he paints a vivid picture that allows the listener to go through what he endured in their own minds. Big Tipper, featuring Brian and Brandon of Jagged Edge, almost offers a hands-on approach to what goes on at the gentleman's clubs. I'm A G allows D-Dro time to shine and show his true swagger. Daddy Ur the Best Strike Sinatra, featuring Trey Songz, has the graphic details of a romance novel. Other featured artists on the CD are Wingo of Jagged Edge, Duke of Boyz in Da Hood and Mr. Cheeks. D-Dro has traveled the world opening for Mr. Cheeks' and as his hype man. He is currently hustling to get on the road again but this time as a solo artist. With growth in mind, the next move for this nomad at heart is success.
