“More special than a pink or blue elephant” These words from Dear April’s “Empire”, featured on their debut self-titled EP, resonate the originality of the folk-infused, progressive pop rock quartet. Hailing from Brisvegas, the band draws from experience touring throughout their home state and performing at prominent Brisbane venues (The Zoo, The Troubadour, The Globe) to provide their audience with a well developed, dynamic and entertaining live show. Once a product of the musical ambitions of soloist Dan Acfield, in 2008, Dear April simply became the new title of the “Dan Acfield Band”, to symbolise an increasing collaboration within the ensemble. Dear April’s self-titled EP, released in September 2008, demonstrates a musical diversity that reflects both the musical origins and continual development of the band; from the upbeat, quirky pop “In Your Blood” to the acoustic, folk tribute of “Goodbye, White One”. In 2009, with their second EP already in the works and more extensive touring on the cards, Dear April is here to prove that they are definitely a band to sit up and take notice of. “Judging by the quality of their EP, Dan won’t be the only excited person at the Zoo” Matt Shea, Scene Magazine (referring to Dear April's EP Launch at the Zoo) “Absolutely beautiful” Scotty, 96.5 “You're crazy guys!” Grant Collins, world reknowned drummer “They projected enough charisma to fill a venue twice the size” Fasterlouder.com.au
