(Check out www.drawingtwo.com) Formed in late 2006 out of Nine Mile Falls, WA, the group began leading worship for their church. As Mitch Ellithorpe (lead vocals & acoustic guitar) and Ryan Armstrong (electric guitar & back-up vocals) grew in their passion for music and ministry, the duet quickly grew to include Kellen Rowe (drums & back-up vocals), brother to the lead singer Shawn Ellithorpe (bass & back-up vocals), and Andrew James (saxophone). Over the course of time, their desire to pursue music and faith sparked the development of a band which later became drawing two. In the winter of 2007 the band was hired by English Missionary, Gordon ... to play worship and original pieces at Spokane’s Lutheran Cathedral on the second Sunday of every month. The popularity of "Second Sunday" quickly grew and soon drawing two was set up to play at Spokane's Convention Center opening for the nationally acclaimed group Lost and Found. Almost immediately following, drawing two played alongside Ruth and The Afters at The Service Station. Since then drawing two has been featured at The Empyrean and The Big Dipper, performing with bands like Storyside B, NeedtoBreathe, Chariot Sky, Manic Drive, and many more. The name drawing two was inspired by a verse from the book of James: "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." - James 4:8 Not just a motto to the band but a lifestyle, James 4:8 is what each member encourages their listening audience to pursue. Through countless performances at several music venues in Washington, drawing two has proven, time and time again, that actions and attitudes speak louder than words. The group looks at any public showcase as an opportunity to work towards God’s great commission, to "go and make disciples of all nations."
