Record Producer/ Songwriter D-Sharp was born David Wilson in Boston Massachusetts. D-Sharp’s passion for music first started when he was 10 years old and his father brought home an organ for his little sister. Not really being interested in the organ his sister just let it sit. D-Sharp also nicknamed “DJ” took to the organ like a moth to a flame. Day after day “DJ” would play chords and melodies on the organ, not even knowing what a chord or melody was. At age 13 “DJ” began playing the piano, organ and drums in his local church. He even directed the choir on occasions. Due to his fascination with all things music, D-Sharp immediately began spending all of his time renting out recording studios and experimenting with the equipment. HE would record local groups from his neighbor hood for free. D-Sharp worked on many Hip-Hop and R&B Projects in Boston. It wasn’t long until He built up a good name and reputation as a prolific Record Producer and Song writer. D-Sharp was heavily praised for having a great ear and having spectacular ingenuity because he was able to produce artists who had limited vocal skills and make them sound amazing. In 2001 working at Guitar Center, a manager of a local kid group paid D-Sharp to quit his job and come work with the group full time. IT wasn’t long after D-Sharp recorded 9 songs which landed the group a record deal from Elektra Records. The name of the group was CODE 5 and they were signed by the late Steve Salem (RUN DMC, Russell Simmons) and Merlin Bob. Despite being dropped by Elektra, D-Sharp was able to make contacts with a lot of artists, engineers and managers throughout the industry and has since been working as an independent Producer.
