About Ed Torres
Ed Torres is a multifaceted guitarist/singer/songwriter
that plays many stringed instruments.
He has recently released his first solo cd named "Prayers and Lullabies".
Ed is also the guitarist for the rock band NITE LITE that has three albums out.
Starting out at age 3, on the violin and then moving to guitar with such
influences as Steve Howe, Jimmy Page, Greg Lake and Ritchie Blackmore.
Ed has quite a unique, diversified style; blending various alternate tunings,
with obscure instruments such as the Cuatro. He's also quite the mandolin
player as heard on songs such as 'Father to Son' and 'All About You'.
There is also a track where you can hear a wonderful
dobro, sliding behind a rag picking, original tribute
to Steve Howe called 'Pickin' With Steve'.
If you like lap steel guitar, then Ed won't disappoint with wonderful melodic
lines playing throughout the opening album track called 'Call You Friend'
The smooth voice accompaniment with the stringed instruments, fit like a glove
along with the very sensitive, yet visionary lyrics that leave you with dreamy
images of an ethereal spirit world, much like Jon Anderson of 'Yes'!
Ed is now playing at local clubs in New York City to promote
the 'Prayers And Lullabies' CD
