Born in Trinidad and raised on the east coast of Canada and the USA, Emmy grew up as the only daughter among six children, in a household filled with music. Her first gig was in the church choir at the age of six and she learned to sing harmony in the back seat of the family car, on their many road trips to see relatives. Countless family hours were spent gathered around the piano, and every party was an excuse to bring out any musical instruments available for an all-night jam. When Emmy decided to record her debut CD, UNVEIL, she enlisted her brother John Alcorn as a co-writer to polish her deeply personal songs, and to take on the role of producer. The result is a hip collection of six acoustic pop songs drenched in authentic passion and inspired arrangements, embracing Emmy’s alluring vocal warmth and honest expression. Guitars, keyboards, drums and bass merge seamlessly with lush background vocals; the final cut, ALREADY GONE, goes straight to the heart with cello and bowed bass.
