Our style and approach on the outside could be seen as Melodic Death Metal but the band has so many influences from different styles of music its hard to pinpoint a genre, some bands that have influenced us are In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Dark Tranquillity, Black Sabbath and many many more. In the short time weve been together have won a battle of the bands in Taunton for the oppurtunity to support Romeo Must Die (Ex Stampin’ Ground) and have now recorded our EP at Studio 6 in Swindon, and we are also currently competing in the Surface Unsigned Festival 2009. Engraved Disillusion propose a third category in which two ‘metal’ sounding words are jammed together in a way that values impression over literal meaning. Similarly, melodic death metal often combines death metal with guitar solos that some death metal fans sadly would call a betrayal of values or even blasphemy.
