Fried Chicken and Gasoline

Biography

Imagine a 40 ºC afternoon, somewhere in New Mexico. In the horizon, a gas station where the locals stare at the passing outsiders. A lazy creaking of an old chair echoes through the desert while the wind carries some dry shrubs across the road. Can you see the picture? Imagine a 40 ºC afternoon, somewhere in New Mexico. In the horizon, a gas station where the locals stare at the passing outsiders. A lazy creaking of an old chair echoes through the desert while the wind carries some dry shrubs across the road. Can you see the picture? Fried Chicken & Gasoline have the perfect soundtracks for that landscape. Between the harsh diversion of rockabilly, the undoubted power of heavy metal and the certain melancholies of southern blues rock, Fried Chicken & Gasoline evoke a mix between Velvet revolver and Tesla with Great White and ZZ Top. Fun and catchy reefs that stay in your mind are the proposal of this Portuguese band. Fried Chicken & Gasoline cannot be known without talking about the mythical "Barracão", a testing room where everything happens: the ideas, decisions, the dreams, the foolishness among friends. 15 years ago in the village Moinhos da Barosa in Leiria, two brothers, Filipe (guitar) and Marco (drums), have adopted an area in the backyard of his house where music was almost in dirt, between straw and onions. Without solid projects, Filipe wanted to create a band and sought contacts. Pedro Brandão (vocals) and Marco, who left a band to take a project from scratch, joined de project. Nuno Reis (guitar) and Enio Bergamaschi (bass) emerged soon after. And so the initial formation of Fried Chicken & Gasoline was founded. In Barracão, now with a new floor, began rehearsal in search and discovery of new sounds. Some months later, in August 2006, Enio decides to return to his homeland, Brazil, and left the place that is filled by Peter Slaughter, bassist of the band Echoes of the Fallen Messiah and Panzerfrost. Six months later, Nuno had to abandon the project and entered Bruno Alves, guitarist of Echoes of the Fallen Messiah and Insight. Nowadays this is how Fried Chicken & Gasoline is shown on stage. In 2007, they record their first demo entitled "Fuel Out", to which the themes "World of Stone", "Demons, Angels & the Great Sinner," "Learning from the Past," "You're a ... Wanna Be" and "Burn in Hell, Babe". Already in 2008, they entered in studio to record the debut album entitled "Coming From Nowhere" with the production of Marco Jung, producer of bands like Ianasonic, Dapunksportif and Audible Architecture. An album emerged with a Rockabilly touch and the sound projection of Blues Power Rock. The themes “Impossible Without You", "Lies" and "Secrets" are the three singles in advance. Currently, working on presentation and disclosure of "Coming From Nowhere". In the history of the band, there is a 1st place in the Festival of bands promoted by the Portuguese Institute of Youth (2006), in Leiria, a 3rd place in the competition / festival BG (2006), in Golpilheira, and a 2nd place in the Rock na Praia (2008), in Esposende. Some of the adventures of Fried Chicken & Gasoline were organizing the "Barosa Rock Fest", a festival bringing together bands and friends nearby, and a show at Eamonn Dorans bar, in Dublin, promoted by Dublin Underground.
