POUNDERS are a rock/pop-punk power trio based out of San Jose, CA. Their style blends infectious melodies, catchy hooks, driving bass lines and snappy rhythms. POUNDERS has a unique range of tastes that influence their music, including rock, punk, metal, dance, and hip-hop. The staple of the band is by far their live performance and the amazing energy they display to their audience. POUNDERS have taken the bay area music scene by storm and proudly wave the flag for the resurgence of rock and roll in California. This trio literally owns the stage with their electrifying stage antics, creating buzz each time they perform, leaving audiences longing for more. In Summer 2012, their unforgettable stage presence and local achievements won them “Best Rock Band” in the inaugural Silicon Valley Sound eXperience Awards. With the release of their second album "Chasing The Sun" in Winter 2011, POUNDERS have been persistent in getting their music out to the masses. In Spring 2011, the band released their debut music video for the album's namesake single, filmed by San Jose filmmaker Frank Door of Element 151, and have had three of their songs in rotation on Live 105’s Soundcheck. The band has also acquired a DIY distribution deal with Hot Topic, releasing an exclusive edition of "Chasing the Sun" that was sold online and at various stores on the West Coast, plus their songs played in over 650 Stores across the country. The band even won the 9 Lives Battle of the Bands in April 2012! Pounders released their second music video for “Scream And Let It Go” in September 2012 and will be releasing their new EP “Hard, Dirty, and Fast” in Fall 2012. Pounders have already had the honor of playing the main stage at San Francisco Pride in 2012 (with Karmin), Vans Warped Tour in 2008, the "Bring It Back Tour" stage at Left Coast Live in 2010 (with Neon Trees and OK Go) and the main stage in 2011 (with The Limousines and The Postelles), the Morgan Hill Friday Night Music Series and Wine Festival, Santana Row Music Series, the Whiskey A Go-Go in LA, and various Hot Topic stores throughout California, plus they shared the stage with Alkaline Trio, Filter, Riverboat Gamblers, Me Talk Pretty, and even Mike Herrera of MxPx at their own CD Release show. What makes this band even more special is the individual accomplishments of the band members. Chris auditioned on stage in front of the judges for Season 2 of The X Factor in San Francisco, and has been featured in various music videos, including David Lynch "Crazy Clown Town," Neon Trees "Everybody Talks," Wallpaper "F---ing Best Song Everrr," Lights "Banner," Seeking Empire "Fairytale," and The Relay Company "Mirage." Chris and Justin were back-up singers for 30 Seconds To Mars on Conan; Chris was on America's Got Talent and the Latin Grammy Awards, plus he performed live at the NBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas with Stomp; Justin has performed live on the Projekt Revolution Tour, hosted Nickelodeon's Slime Time LIVE, choreographs routines and performs in stage shows including Paramount’s School of Rock LIVE! and Street Drum Corps presents BANG!, and was featured in Drum! Magazines April 2007 issue as the "New Blood" drummer to look out for; and Alonso has opened for Exodus, Fishbone and Unwritten Law, plus he also plays bass in SoleJive and Shadow Beat Ritual, which played the California Music Fest in 2009.
