You could hear a pin drop as the Gadget White Band took the Bryce Jordan Arena stage. The band was thrilled to be invited as the sole supporting act for legendary band Bad Company on their 1999 reunion tour. Billy Squire was originally scheduled to perform but had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency. Many of Squire's fans were not informed of the change until they read notices posted at the entrances. This made the band incredibly nervous. Gadget remembers that night. "We walked onto the stage, the lights were dim and I hear whispers from the audience". "Is it the Dixie Chicks?" An announcer apologizes for the inconvenience and introduces the replacement band. The lights come up and they dive into their 40 minute set. Upon completion of the second song, jubilant shouts and applause fill the 16,000 seat arena. The exposure from that show led to many national act openings and second stage appearances including Journey, Styx and Foreigner to name a few. Gadget and her band completed her second CD entitled Serious Butterflies in 2001. She received a national distribution deal soon after. In addition to questions regarding her influences, she is also asked how she got her name. "It's derived from the old Gidget movies starring Sally Field. My mother had to be different". Currently residing in Houston, Texas, Gadget has recruited a group of stellar musicians. Guitarist Dana Starr, Drummer Billy Baxter lays down a solid back beat and their newest member bassist John Stuart brings the groove. The GWB has a wide demographic appeal that ranges from twenty somethings to Baby Boomers. They continue to wow audiences wherever they perform and their fan base continues to grow with each performance. Accolades Give It Back..
