Recently commissioned to do the theme song and soundtrack for the new cable TV show A LOCAL ANESTHETIC, Gary Smejkal is back into the studio to record his second CD titled PLAYING IN THE WHITE SPACE. He brings into the studio a new roster of musicians including Wayne Morgan, Steve Esposito, Ray Chiffy, and Christa Dhimo. LIKE A MOTH TO THE FLAME, the 2008 debut from Gary Smejkal, features three new original compositions written for the bass. In further exploring the bass as a lead instrument, Smejkal contrasts driving hard rock rhythms with unexpected interludes and fusionist stylings.
