Coming from a different continent, H A V I learned that nothing ever comes easy. Raised in Little D.R. (Washington Heights), H A V I acquired the gift of survival and hustle. A Hip Hop fan since the YO! MTV Rap days, it's always been a desire for this hungry MC to pursue a career in music. Thanks to his childhood friend Bembe, H A V I was introduced to the world of mixtapes and his first SOURCE magazine in the early 90's. His first love was baseball, but he always seemed to find himself writing rhymes and songs during his free time back in his high school days. Though trials and tribulations kept him distracted from his music, deep in his heart he knew he couldn't give up his real dream.
After recording his first official tracks, "Pretty Boy Bullshit"
"People Hate" and "Respect Mines" back in 2003, he realized there was more to just writing rhymes. He learned how to compose, arrange, and record his own songs. During this time he tried balancing between earning an education and income. With the assistance of his high school friend Chris, they started their own company named High Stakes Records in the summer of 2004.
Unfortunately around late '04,
H A V I came face to face with harsh reality of incarceration. After overcoming his trials and tribulations, he found himself struggling harder than ever. With the support of his family and friends, H A V I went back into the studio to continue where he'd left off. Due to all the stress and circumstances, there was a point where he decided he'd given up on his dream.
Thanks to some genuine influences and advice, H A V I went harder in the studio with a fire of anger and ambition he never felt before. Penning classic tracks like "Best of Best" "Boss Playa" and "Life Is Never Promised", 2006 was nothing but preparation for his 2007 mixtape debut. With the release of his cd, "Live On Dyckman Vol. 1" and a few shows and performances, H A V I proved that he's a force to be reckoned with. With his P.C. family riding shotgun, H A V I continued a mission he far had abandoned earlier in the year.
With supportive fans throughout California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Atlanta, and Louisiana, H A V I is on the rise to becoming a national phenom with goals to expand to countries overseas as well. They say talent gets you signed, but a consistent work ethic makes you successful. Working 24/7 with no days off, H A V I is on pace to become one of the most successful artist to come out of Dyckman City, Washington Heights.
Versatile rhymes, exquisite flows, and unmatchable swagger makes this unique artist stand above the competition. Not only does he speak for his hood, he speaks for his peoples. H A V I represents a nation of leaders, bosses, and natural born hustlers. He's the Ambassador of Dyckman. Coming from the bottom there's only one way to go for this hot prospect and that's up.
H A V I won't stop until he's went bar for bar with every single top notch artist in the industry. He is Gods Gift to his peoples and he will make sure his peoples are not only seen but heard. H A V I has a lot riding on him, so failure is not an option. So for that, H A V I has been prepping some upcoming projects for 2010 which involve two new mixtapes, "High$takes Records Compilation" & "Live On Dyckman: Vol. 2", and his first as yet untitled full length album.
The stakes are high and H A V I is ready to up the ante...
