Anthony Shaw was born and raised on the southwest side of Inkster, MI. Grew up idolizing prince's music and fell in love with hip hop, when he saw the movie crush groove for the first time. At the age of 9, he was the youngest member of the rap group called "York St. Posse" (YSP) which consisted of the members in the group all living on the same block.(York St). At the age of 10 Anthony Shaw started playing the drums for his church/choir. He was deeply influenced musically by N.W.A., Redman, Wu-tang, Dog pound, DJ Quik, Above the law, 2pac and Esham. Bought his first drum machine and began producing song/beat at the age of 13. In High School he earned the name Quick Draw Ant Shaw (Q.D.A.S.), partly because his real name being Anthony Shaw, and "quick draw" because when it came down to music, he was the quickest to come up with a hook, beat or concept to a song. During his 11th grade school year at Inkster High, he co-founded, along with childhood friend Savon Phaust, the group Mind Bendaz Click (M.B.C.). By his 12th grade year M.B.C. developed a respectable sized cult following around the city. They even had representatives of Def Jam fly out of New York to pay M.B.C. a visit at there high school. After graduating from high school Q.D.A.S. began college, and Savon Phaust relocated to Cleveland Ohio, and the group was disbanded. A year and a half later Q.D.A.S. hooks up with another childhood friend, also from York St, who was a up and coming producer/artist named Infinity and began doing production work together. Soon after that Q.D.A.S. started his own record label, which a couple of years later would be renamed "Ink Venom Records". Q.D.A.S. then put out his first solo single "10 10 304" which had good success on radio. "10 10 304" was showcased on the Howie Mendel show and was getting radio play in states as far as Hobbs New Mexico. The song earned him a chance to perform at the Detroit 4th July fireworks, where Q.D.A.S. goes on to say "I rocked the crowd, I didn't even perform 10 10 304,. I just straight free styled my 8 minute set on stage, it was crazy!"Every since then Q.D.A.S. has come to put out a mix tape and a single in back to back summers. In January 2007 Q.D.A.S. wrote, and along with Infinity, co-produced a song that was used at the 2007 Metro Detroit Auto show in Detroit, MI. The song received such great reviews and love from the top Dalmer/Chrysler Executives and Faculties that a week later the song was also used to take part in the Dalmer/Chrysler Auto Show Convention. And now the moment of truth is almost here! The first solo album from Q.D.A.S.
