"Completely blew my mind." Amber Taufen, Westword, 8/10/2010 ELECTRO DANCE PUNK meets LATIN HIP HOP. INTI wrote 2008 debut album “RADIO REVOLUCION” while traveling across Central America and Mexico. Music video for INTI anthem “Almas sin Armas” shot on Aztec pyramids and in Mayan villages reflects the cultural journey of Latinos born in “el otro lado” the United States. INTI’s defiant lyrics mix Spanish and English speaking to both sides of the border. Electro pop snyth and keytar accent INTI's solid hip hop beats & dance rock basslines. Dynamic front duo Teresita (T-Rx) and Precious Hill blend soulful, melodic, powerhouse vocals with sharp, conscious rhymes and a punk rock attitude. Captivating visuals and satirical skits use wit as a weapon for social commentary. It is not a uncommon for a singer to be blindfolded and robbed by Uncle Sam, to be shot by a soldier while pulling out the bullets, and to be fed fake money only to spit it out. From a dancer in a gas mask to a patriotic doctor pushing meds, INTI uses costuming and visuals to poke fun at politics, the media, the music industry, the counter culture, the mainstream and themselves. Originating in Texas, INTI toured extensively with tribal rock band Kan'Nal before producing 2009 release "CHEMTRAIL CANDY" Denver, CO. The album passionately delivers INTI's authentic fusion of urban and ethnic, hip hop and punk. Mind bending title track remix features legendary violinist Steven Kindler of Mahavishnu Orchestra. Urban roots, world travels, art as a form of social activism and music as a means to keep people dancing define INTI's distinct analog post-modern rock. "Inti blew everyone into blissed out space with their new album material that is over the top. A whole new style of music, TRIBAL PUNK, edgy and danceable yet smooth." - Dr. Blue, 3 Sided Whole Festival Founder, New Mexico SOUNDS LIKE: MIA, Manu Chao, Morcheeba, Calle 13 MORE ABOUT INTI “INTI is first and foremost a hip-hop group -- but it's not comparable to any hip-hop you've likely heard before. The group starts with fierce, socially conscious lyrics, layered over soulful, funky drum-and-basslines, and finished off with a world-music flavor that incorporates sounds from all over the planet; the result is booty-shaking tunes that you can't help but move to while also offering a positive, uplifting message of hope and unity that transcends genre and borders, however high the walls are built.” Amber Taufen, Westword, Denver CO, 2010 BAND HISTORY: Gilly Gonzalez, Rodolfo Escobar and Teresita Hinojosa began their musical journey together in the San Antonio underground warehouse art scene during the experimental noise rock days of the late '90s. The power trio released 3 albums each under a different name ultimately defining the core persona of the INTI sound. By 2001, five of INTI's six members had joined epic tribal rock band Kan'Nal. Gilly, Rodo, Teresita, dancer/visual designer Akayate and audio engineer Mateo dedicated to seven years extensive touring throughout Northern and Central America, two full length commercial releases and a Sony Red distribution contract. In 2009, Kan'nal disbanded leaving the INTI core to unearth their roots at their 5Point studio amidst the inner city landscape of Denver, CO. INTI joined forces with versatile vocalist Precious Hill (Katsuk, AAA) to write and record 2 studio albums, performing at festivals and huge underground parties, while continuously pushing the boundaries of convention. NEW ALBUM CHEMTRAIL CANDY: 2010 "Chemtrail Candy" recorded at state of the art Immersive Studios in Boulder, CO explodes with INTI's energetic urgency and integrity. The album features legendary violinist Steven Kindler (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jeff Beck) who brings ripping melodies to title track remix and several new songs. Uplifting lyrics call for the empowered activation of an educated populace fiercely protecting basic human rights. Tackling the irony of music as merchandise and art as a commodity, the band chants "you know you want it" while pushing their “candy" a self-proclaimed anitdote to fight the negative effects of chemtrails. 1st ALBUM RADIO REVOLUCION: In 2007, INTI toured Mexico and Central America with spectacular dancer AKAYATE spinning fire. The crew filled a small van with instruments, amps and fire gear to bring the INTI show to Central America performing for audiences from indigenous Mayan tribes to international tourists. This epic journey produced most of the material on INTI’s debut album “RADIO REVOLUCION” launched from DENVER, CO on the 4th of July 2008. 1st album "Radio Revolucion" reflects the exhilaration of INTI's adventurous travels through Latinoamerica. BAND MEMBERS: Action-packed and rebellious, international act INTI takes the stage like superheroes ready for battle. Furious drummer GILLY Gonzalez drives the band with intricate beats while singing and rhyming along side relentless bass from the enigmatic RODO, Rodolfo Escobar III. TERESITA Hinojosa drops a vicious mix of spoken word Spanish English rhymes while playing retro synth on keytar. The fluid jazzy vocal expressions and stylistic lyrics of PRECIOUS Hill expand the band's musical spectrum by adding a medley of modern rock and soul. Dancer AKAYATE glows in a bright array of indigenous tribal elements, mixed urban graffiti and graphic art sewn by her. Audio engineer MATEO spices up the show by adding sound effects, percussion and instrumentation from the sound booth. Interactive mind melting video projections often fill the INTI stage featuring eclectic artists such as VIDEOLICIOUS (Bassnesctar) and VJ JOOS E J. Special concerts feature theatrical dance by Fuego Lunar arialist, fire spinner MaQi and guest drummer, percussionist Lisa Wimberger of Lunar Fire.
