Im 21 years old, and Im an aspiring rapper/songwriter. Ive been involved with rap music for about 10 years now. At first I just listened to rap music, some of my early influences were Bone Thugs N Harmony, Tupac, LL Cool J, and Beastie Boys. Of course I was so young at that time that I really didnt understand everything about it, but as time passed, the more I caught on. I started listening to Tupac the same year he was killed and wasnt able to listen to his earlier works so R U Still Down was one of my favorite albums. Then in 1999 when Eminem came out I was instantly drawn to his music (much like everyone else). I started writing my own songs when I was in Sixth grade. I never had access to beats, come to think of it; I never cared about having a beat. The biggest majority of my rapping was strictly acapella until my sophomore year in high school when a friend of mine hooked me up with a beat one of his friends had made, which would ultimately spark the beginning of my now well known persona and stage name H2. The beat basically sounded like a take off of one of the Halloween movies, I just liked the name and everyone seemed to as well. Some people even go as far as making fun of it with jokes like H2O or just ask what it means. So after heavy thought, some long nights in the studio, and some debut-worthy beats, I was able to release my first solo album entitled Room to Breathe in fall 2003. It was a huge local success in my town, Milan, Tennessee. Which was hard to believe due to the fact the album was recorded with a regular computer microphone (with the exception of one song from a real studio). People to this day still come up and tell me its one of their favorite albums. So with a little (too much) positive energy, money made off the album, and determination to outdo myself, in December 03 I hooked up with a record label out of one of my neighboring towns, and forced out a 19 track album entitled Moment To Reflect and released it January of 04. Little did I know I was about to experience what they call The Sophomore Album Curse! Though it was only an underground flop, it didnt matter because I take every project I release to be a serious deal. So when people heard the album and endless criticism began, I began to fall into a creative slump for the first half of 2004. Until one of my brothers had a talk with me and said something to the effect of People keep saying you done fell off H, they say you dont have it anymore, then if that wasnt enough to fuel someones hunger to get back to the mic, my long time partners N-SANE and J-Smoove had a similar talk saying that I needed to Listen to the streets. Then in September 2004, I began writing what would be my best work to date, Listening to Pavement. Somewhere in the middle of working on the album I dropped a mixtape and introduced my underground label M-Town Bound Recordings. By fall 2005 I was ready to release LTP, with the lead single that I have also included on my demo We Love It. With a banging south beat and still have enough lyrical content to make any true MC cheer, it would only kick off the double disc album, but by December 05 the MTB name just wasnt strong enough to live up to the lyricists I was about to release, so now we are known as Street Fame Entertainment. Our label is too strong for anyone to hold us with artists like J'Smoove, The Truth, Young Money, Lucky and production by S.Dub Tha Drum Major. Which is someone Ive known all through school and is an excellent composer. In a few words I can say that this label is merging the lines of dirty south beats and strong lyrical content with expressive ideas and an incredible work ethic.
